Palm Harbor Fountains Fest to Offer Food, Fun and a Focus on Safety
The small businesses of the Fountains Plaza are giving back to the community this fall with a free event that is open to the public. “Big Time Fun with a Small Town Feel” is what can be expected during this exciting event that takes place on Veterans Day, November 11, 2012, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Thirty-two businesses are participating with activities that include a food court, live band, acrobatics, a fashion show, and an interactive scavenger hunt with prizes! Local animal rescue groups will be present, as well as a live broadcast from Tampa Bay’s HOT 101.5.
“Small businesses such as ours depend on the support and patronage of the community to thrive. We are joining together to say thank you to our customers,” says Dick Murdock, owner of Clothes Mentor Palm Harbor. The Fountains Plaza is home to a fantastic variety of businesses. “It’s Main Street, USA right on US 19!”
In an effort to keep the community safe, this event will be the first in the nation to offer on-site registration into the National Silver Alert Program. “This safety program was designed to assist law enforcement officials in the event a person with Alzheimer’s, Autism, Down Syndrome, or any cognitive disorder, regardless of age that goes missing.” says Neil Arfmann, President of the National Silver Alert Program. McGruff the Crime Dog will also make an appearance, with Jr. Crime Biter Badges for the children.
