High School Girls Soccer: East Lake Suffers Tough Loss

The East Lake Varsity Lady Eagles Soccer Team met Seminole on the Dunedin field Saturday night for the first game of the Hurricane Watch Tournament.

With eight minutes left in the first quarter, Seminole scored on a rebound shot.  The Eagles followed with an attack on the Seminole goal and a narrow miss by Kristy Legoas

Keeper Ashley Linse prompted some loud cheers from the fans when she came out of the goal for an amazing stop after a Seminole break-away.

The Eagles were awarded a free kick after a Seminole foul, but were unable to capitalize on it.  With three minutes left, Elesha Holmes placed a ball in the net, but the goal was disallowed for being off-side.

Forced to play one player down for the majority of the game, the Eagles still only allowed one goal.

Final score: Seminole 1, East Lake 0.
