Palm Harbor Patch received phone calls Wednesday asking why Pinellas County Sheriff's deputies were conducting an investigation near the Coral Landings Shopping Center on U.S. 19, which is between Tampa Road and Nebraska Avenue.

As the accompanying photographs show, the deputies were working in a small, wooded area next to the sidewalk on the east side of U.S. 19.

A spokesperson for the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office says a preliminary investigation found the incident appeared to be a suicide. No other details were released.

Palm Harbor Patch usually does not report about suicides, however we wanted to explain what happened after receiving inquiries about it.

It so sad anytime this happens, my condolence to the friends and family. We all ask why, with the age of internet, games and joy of holiday shopping. We need one basic ingredient that seem to be missing, Human Kindness, listening to people. Your family friends. Don't let the clutter in your life, miss the warning signs. Especially during the Holiday Season. Please take stock in your surroundings, check your family, your elderly neighbor. An ounce of kindness, erases that lonely and isolated feeling, and spreads like a wildfire. Give the gift of kindness.
