Did RNC Forget Buses to Pick Up Florida Delegates?

Delegates were ready to go today at Palm Harbor’s Innisbrook Resort, but the buses didn’t arrive to take them into Tampa.

Florida’s Republicans are already in trouble with their party for holding the primary earlier than desired.

They paid the price in the number of delegates allowed at this year's Republican National Convention. They may have also helped add fuel to a fire to enhance the penalties for states that host early primaries.

Now it looks like might be paying more.

According to the Tampa Bay Times, the buses meant to pick up the Florida delegation at Palm Harbor’s Innisbrook Resort today at noon never arrived to bring them into downtown.

“The RNC forgot to send them,” the Times story said.

"Well, that sucks," the Times reported Hillsborough County GOP chair Art Wood as saying. "I guess it won't be the first glitch."

Do you agree with Wood? Was it a glitch? Or is the party trying to send a message to Republicans from across the state? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section.

How childish. And yet these delegates will defend their overlords loud and clear.

Is there a follow up to this story? What exactly happened and arrangements were made to get the delegates to Tampa?

I agree!
What happened?

The truth. Good or bad needs to be reported right away.
Today not tomorrow.

What a slap in the face to this to the delegates representating the state where the convention is being held. WOW!

These donor-delegates can easily afford cabs and/or limos so don't worry they won't miss their chance to smooch the royal party butts :)

Seems like the patch is turning slowly turning into a Tampa news blog with a political bent, next will be agenda. Is nothing ever going on in Temple Terrace anymore? I can read ridiculous non issue stories like this anywhere.

During the election season it is natural for all media outlets to focus on politics, especially with the RNC convention in town this week. And, frankly, judging from the number of comments (although often from the same people) political stories are a popular topic with Patch readers.

Most likely some FL Delegates were for Ron Pail. 20 Maine delegates had credentials pulled when it became known they would not support Romney. Boehner clearly ignored the call for point of order yesterday plowing ahead for new rules designed to silence anyone not for the front runner.. Nice going!

"Boehner, (LOL pronounce Boner), clearly ignored the call for point of order yesterday plowing ahead for new rules designed to silence anyone not for the front runner"? This has no effect on the front runner, the front runner is a democrat :)
I heard one delegate say " Florida is going to be a tight election and 50 million tax payer dollars is well worth spending if it gets us 500 more votes." I am positive that they could find 500 more people willing to sell out our country for 1 million if it was a cash payment, small bills..Mitt call me :)

Friends of mine returning to Innisbrook from the RNC also said their bus driver got lost! They did not get back to their rooms until almost 4AM. The driver was from Tarpon, a resident of 34 years. When asked, (I have been told) about what was up he replied,"I'm just doing the job I was told to do". So you be the judge.
