Local Company Holds Food Drive to Benefit Kids

Employees at Palm Harbor's Nationwide Title Clearing (NTC) are on a mission to make sure students don't go hungry over the summer, when they're not in school.  They're holding a food drive to help a summer program offered by the Palm Harbor food pantry F.E.A.S.T. (Food Emergency and Services Team). The summer program benefits local schoolchildren, low-income seniors, and the unemployed.

During the summer months when school is not in session, many children who receive free lunch programs during the school year need a place to turn for a meal. According to F.E.A.S.T., 6,800 area children rely on the National School Breakfast and Lunch Program.

Nationwide Title Clearing, which has nearly 300 employees, decided to conduct a food drive at its offices to benefit F.E.A.S.T. Employees are donating brown lunch bags stocked with non-perishable foods that appeal to children and teens. They'll be collecting the food through July 12 and then they'll donate it on July 13. NTC employees are also making $10 donations to F.E.A.S.T.

“Many of our employees live here as well as work here in Palm Harbor and have children who attend Palm Harbor schools,” said John Hillman, CEO of Nationwide Title Clearing.

“No child should go hungry at any time of the year, and we believe the food pantry’s summer program is an extremely important service that we are proud to be involved with.”

NTC serves the mortgage and financial industry by performing research services and processing documents for the residential mortgage servicing industry. 

F.E.A.S.T. is a 501C3, non-profit food pantry that has been serving the North Pinellas area for 28 years. Solely funded by 14 local churches, civic organizations, local schools and businesses, the organization receives no government assistance.
