Palm Harbor Man Allegedly Steals Car to Head to Tennessee

The suspect said after he got into an argument with the victim, he stole the car and was going to drive to Tennessee, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.

A Palm Harbor man has been arrested after allegedly stealing a car and trying to flee to Tennessee.

Shawn Bueg, 31, was arrested by the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office at 2:23 p.m. Feb. 16 and charged with grand theft of a motor vehicle.

According to the arrest affidavit, Bueg "took the vehicle without permission and is unauthorized to drive due to (an) invalid license."

Bueg told authorities that he was en route to Tennessee and knew he was not supposed to be driving, nor did he have permission to take the vehicle.

The affidavit said Bueg took the car after getting into an argument with the victim. When the victim said the police were going to be called, Bueg said he panicked and left the home.

Authorities said Bueg hit a guardrail on Interstate 75 and caused damaged to the victim's vehicle.
