Meet the Orangutans at Suncoast Primate Sanctuary: Jewel

Patch introduces you to the orangutans at Palm Harbor's Suncoast Primate Sanctuary in honor of Orangutan Caring Week. Want to visit them? Mention Patch and get half off your admission throughout November.

All week long, Palm Harbor Patch is featuring the orangutans at Suncoast Primate Sanctuary in honor of Orangutan Caring Week. Today, meet Jewel!

Jewel was born in 1968 and is one of the approximately 116 female orangutans in captivity in the United States. She gave birth to two daughters — Julie (born May 3, 1986) and Ruby (born April 30, 1989) — at the sanctuary and she still enjoys playing with them.

Come meet Jewel during Orangutan Caring Week, Nov. 11-17, at Suncoast Primate Sanctuary and learn about the plight of orangutans and their rainforest habitat.

Mention Patch and get 50 percent off your $10 admission throughout the month of November!
