Debbie Buschman, 43, beat incumbent Bob Shatanoff by less than 300 votes.

Palm Harbor voters picked a new Fire Commissioner in Tuesday's General Election. Debbie Buschman, 43, a Fiscal Assistant for the Pinellas-Pasco Public Defender's Office and mother of four, beat incumbent Bob Shatanoff by 247 votes.

After she was elected, Buschman told Palm Harbor Patch:

"I want to thank everyone who supported me through this election process and thank you for everyone who voted for me. I am amazed at how close this race was even after the extra ballots were counted.
