Smooth Day for Palm Harbor Voters

Election officials say there were no problems for voters at Palm Harbor polls.

Palm Harbor Patch visited several local precincts, and most were quiet with a few voters stopping by. Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri, who was challenged by Everett Rice in the Republican primary, was accompanied to the polls Monday morning by his wife, Lauralee Westine, and the couple's 6-year-old daughter, Lauren.

Gualtieri, , expressed his gratitude for his supporters after he voted this morning.

"I certainly appreciate them very much," he told Palm Harbor Patch. "Without them, I would not be here. There's no question about that. They say it takes a village to raise a child, well it takes a whole county to elect a sheriff. Without having had so many people and so many strong supporters we wouldn't be where we are today."

While voters had an easy time at the polls, the same can not be said for elections workers, once the polls closed.

Clark said there was , which caused about a one-hour delay in the release of voting totals.
