Need to know about traffic, security and tickets for Gov. Mitt Romney’s rally in Land O’ Lakes on Saturday, Oct. 27? This is the place to find out what you need to know.
Planning on heading over to the rally for Gov. Mitt Romney in Land O’ Lakes on Saturday?
There are quite a few things officials from Pasco County and the Romney campaign want you to be aware of.
Traffic and Road Closings
While it’s unclear just how congested U.S. Highway 41 will become in the hours before the rally, Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco has some pretty simple advice: “Go early or avoid the area completely if you’re not going.”
Nocco said he anticipates U.S. 41 will close sometime Saturday to accommodate Romney’s motorcade, but he couldn’t provide specific times or locations.
The rally takes place at Land O’ Lakes High School, 20325 Gator Lane, starting at 7 p.m. Doors open around 5 p.m. for ticketholders.
Security Do’s and Don’ts
Spectators can plan on some pretty tight security measures for Saturday’s rally, officials say.
“All attendees will go through airport-like security and should bring as few personal items as possible,” the Romney campaign website says. “No bags, sharp objects, umbrellas, liquids or signs will be allowed in the venue.”
Cameras, however, are allowed.
Nocco had a few other things to add to the list. He says participants should leave food, coolers, chairs and, of course, weapons at home. They can, however, bring cash since there will be vendors on site.
He also reminded that the event is a private one. That means people can be asked to leave at the discretion of the Romney campaign.
Getting Tickets
Tickets are still available for Saturday’s rally.
Anyone wishing to attend can obtain a ticket online from the Romney campaign’s website.
Tickets are also available at the following locations:
New Port Richey Victory Office
4768 U.S. Highway 19
Wesley Chapel Victory Office
27709 State Road 56
Spring Hill Victory Office
2939 Landover Blvd.
Temple Terrace Victory Office
234 Bullard Parkway
Who’s Attending?
Romney is slated to appear with U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio and Senate hopeful Connie Mack.
What About Protests?
While it’s unclear just how many protests will take place during Saturday’s rally in Land O’ Lakes, at least one group has announced its intentions.
The United School Employees of Pasco plan to show up in force to express their concerns about funding for public schools.

If you have heard Romney's many lies on TV, he will just be repeating them in person. You are better off to go shopping!
Want a Better Economy? History Says Vote Democrat!
Personal disposable income has grown nearly 6 times more under Democratic presidents
Gross Domestic Product (GDP) has grown 7 times more under Democratic presidents
Corporate profits have grown over 16% more per year under Democratic presidents (they actually declined under Republicans by an average of 4.53%/year)
Average annual compound return on the stock market has been 18 times greater under Democratic presidents (If you invested $100k for 40 years of Republican administrations you had $126k at the end, if you invested $100k for 40 years of Democrat administrations you had $3.9M at the end)
Republican presidents added 2.5 times more to the national debt than Democratic presidents
The two times the economy steered into the ditch (Great Depression and Great Recession) were during Republican, laissez faire administrations

Carol,
Despite the Ambassador's family pleading that their son's death not be politicized, you are doing so anyway. Shame on you! Romney issued his press release while the Consulate in Libya was still burning. You two are quite a pair!

Amy,
Perhaps you need to turn off Fox News, and learn about Obama's many achievements.
Thank you, President Obama for your many achievements:
Led the killing of Osama Bin Laden
Improved US relationships with most allies
Directed killing of several leaders of Al Qaida
Implemented harsh sanctions on Iran
Brought together coalition to remove dictator Gaddhafi from power in Libya
Implemented Obamacare to provide healthcare for millions of people who previously
did not have health coverage, and to mandate several health cost-cutting measures.
Ended the discriminatory Don’t Ask Don’t Tell policy in the military
Supports same-sex marriage.
Supports the equal pay act to provide equal pay for women and men.
Led the nation out of worst recession (gotten into by Bush) in many decades.
Implemented stimulus act to revive economy.
Ended war in Iraq, an unnecessary and unbudgeted war started by George W Bush
Began drawdown of war in Afghanistan
Passed necessary Wall Street reform to prevent future financial collapse
Helped turn around auto industry.
And, much, much more!
Go OBAMA!

We need change! Yay! Romney! If all else fails then those numbskulls can get barry to run again in 2016. BUT, until then...give someone else the chance. I am appalled by the events on 9/11. I demand an apology from Obama. He's a COWARD.

Neither Bush nor Hoover were lassiez faire Presidents. And there were a lot more recessions and depressions in our history than the two mentioned. These down cycles occur periodically. Unfortunately until we become more lassiez faire, they will occur more often and become more destructive.

The question I have is which Mitt Romney will show up in Land O’ Lakes? Will it be the liberal Romney who in Massachusetts supported gay rights, abortion rights, universal Health Care (Romneycare), and gun control (an assault weapons ban)? Will it be the right wing conservative Romney who opposed gay marriage, abortion rights, universal health care (Obamacare), gun control, and who stated his contempt for 47% of the population in front of millionaire donors? Will it be Moderate Mitt who since the debates now doesn't really oppose all abortions, wants to keep the good parts of Obamacare, doesn't really want to attack Iran anymore, actually likes Obama's foreign policy, likes gays, and even really likes all 100% of the population. Mitt Romney's past statements show that he is a man who really only believes that he is entitled to become president and he will say anything to win the election.

IF MITT WAS SUCH A GOOD GOVERNOR,
WHY DO MASSACHUSETTS VOTERS FAVOR OBAMA?
Romney is 20 to 25 points behind Obama in the polls in that state.
Those Massachusetts residents are trying to tell us something, I do declare!

While you worked at your job, Romney paid just 14 percent tax last year!
Romney made an average of $57,260 PER DAY ($20.9 million divided by 365days)
And, now Mitt wants to lower taxes on the wealthy. Give me a break!

Mitt Romney was a failed one term governor in Massachusetts. He was so unpopular that he didn't even bother to run for a second term. He is still so unpopular in Massachusetts that he is no longer even contesting the state. The people of Massachusetts know him the best and they're not voting for him. The people in Michigan know him the second best and he is losing the election there too. We should trust the people of Massachusetts and Michigan who know Romney the best. They're not voting for him and neither should we.

Mark Newman said it best in the first response to Jean Hoffman... "Bite me, you're a fool," primarily because he sounded more like Romney than any of the other posters. Mark's response best typified Romney's response to Obama's points throughout the debates, as well as most Republican responses when presented with all of Obama's accomplishments. "Nuh uh!" has become the Republican cry of solidarity throughout this campaign.

J, your side kills me. This President has the country on it's knees and you still defend him. I can understand your white guilt getting in the way in 2008 but not 2012. I see cars with Obama 2012 and know then how stupid they must be. Plain stupid. But never mind J. Lets go to the polls where we can remove this piece of trash from the White House!!!! Sink NObamacare. Socialist.

Consider these facts before you vote:
1. Is the economy better off now than it was four years ago? Based on the evidence, I'd have to say no. Wages are down, the the prices of everything we buy is up. The price of gas has doubled. Good jobs are scarce.
2. Are the slight "up tics" in the economy a solid trend in the right direction? I don't think so. First, the gains are very slight. Second, I believe they are the result in the temporary stimulus by the Federal Reserve, in which they printed a lot of new money. It provides a slight bump now, but the cost will come later - after the election. Ben Bernanke is trying to save Obama's job, along with his own.
3. The continual misrepresentation of Romney on the auto bailout by the Obama administration. Obama appears to be taking complete credit for the bailout, while simultaneously saying that Romney was for liquidation of the auto industry. This is an absolute falsehood. It was Bush who initiated the bailout and TARP. Obama continued it and then expanded it, to his credit. However, Romney was one of the first to say that the industry needed to go through bankruptcy reorganization, and eventually they did exactly that. He also said that any needed loans should come from the private sector. He never said that the industry should be liquidated, or that he would deny federal funds if he were president, and private sector funds were not available. Obama lies!
4. The Benghazi coverup and lies.

I laugh when Republicans try to blame all of Florida's and this country's economic problems on Pres. Obama. It was Pres. Bush who left this country in a mess by starting two wars that he never paid for and then gave tax cuts to millionaires. It was Bush who cut regulations on Wall Street and allowed excessive speculation and the writing of bad mortgages that ruined our economy. Also, in Florida we have had only Republican governors for the last 14 years and both the Senate and the House of Representatives have been under Republican control since 1996. Somehow Republicans now try to blame all of Florida's economic problems solely on Pres. Obama when it was their own short sighted policies that caused our economic problems. It was Republican policies that underfunded education, that failed to properly diversify Florida's economy beyond tourism and construction, that kept us as a low wage service economy, all the while enriching themselves in Tallahassee. A Romney presidency will look just like the failed George W. Bush adminstration or even like the failed Gov. Rick Scott administration.

I say that Nov. 6th will tell the tale. This socialist bastard will be led from the White House. Hopefully he won't loot the place the Clinton administration did. I am no fan of Bush but at least he loved the country. Bush is why the Tea Party was born. Rick Scott is great too. He can take all of his radical friends back to that hellhole in Chicagpo. it is simple moron. Where Republicans govern, you have prosperity. Rat holes like Chicago, California , Detroit and NT where liberals rule they are in a mess. It is why the electoral college exists. I know you love the electoral college.

I find it fascinating that the electorate is practically pissing all over themselves to get the party back in power that almost drove this country into Depression four years ago. The current guy has been in only 4 yrs and everybody is going back to the rich fat cats. Also, if it weren't for a Socialist Medicare, the selfish elderly wouldn't have a pot to shit in. But, that would be fine because we all know their loaded Republicans and could foot the bill themselves. Flame on.......
