Scouts Thank Veterans for Their Service

Everyone, let's give a big round of applause and a "Patch-on-the-Back" to Palm Harbor's Boy Scout Troop 26, who made their community proud by greeting veterans at a local Applebee's on Veteran's Day.

How awesome is this?

Fifteen well-mannered Palm Harbor Boy Scouts put smiles on the faces of local veterans on Sunday.

The boys greeted the veterans as they arrived at the Applebee's at Curlew Road and U.S. 19 for a complimentary entree. The scouts also held the door open for the veterans and thanked them for their service to our country. The boys greeted veterans at the restaurant from noon to 7 p.m

"Everybody really got a kick out of it," said Julie Longen, Assistant Scout Master for Troop 26. Longen sent Patch some great photos of the scouts.

What a heartwarming display of gratitude for the men and women who served our country. So, here's a big "Patch-on-the-Back" for you, Boy Scout Troop 26! Kudos!

How fantastic!!! Good boys doing a good deed!! Why isn't this on the front page of the newspaper? Let's teach our youngsters about patriotism, and what a great way to do it! My hat's off to the Asst. Scout Master, Julie Longen as well!
