You can brighten the holiday of a child in need by bringing an unwrapped new toy to donate to the "Toys for Tots" program at the December 7, First Friday Food Truck Rally in Old Downtown Palm Harbor.

A donation box will be at the family-friendly event, which features 10 to 12 food trucks, music and activities.

"The focus of these First Friday Events is to enrich the sense of community and families in Palm Harbor and to raise money to install street lights on Florida Avenue. So far the past five months have been a great success and each month more and more families are attending," says Debbie Thomas, Executive Director of Old Palm Harbor Main Street.

Organizers will also be holding a giveaway for gift certificates and items donated by area businesses. The cost is $1 per ticket or seven tickets for $5. Some of the businesses that have donated items or gift certificates include-

  • Bright House Networks
  • Cricketeers
  • Steve's Produce
  • Ozona Blue
  • Grumpy's
  • Angel Cakes Gourmet
  • Emily's Family Restaurant
  • Tampa Cuban Breeze
  • Key West Hair Company
  • Bellissimo Pet Salon
  • Lake Tarpon Resort
  • Stand Up Paddle Company
  • The Shoppe Around the Corner

The proceeds of the giveaway go toward a street light project in Old Downtown Palm Harbor.

The First Friday Celebration is from 5-9 p.m. Friday, December 7 in the Harbor Hall parking lot at 1190 Georgia Ave.
