Palm Harbor Patch would like to congratulate the winners in the 2013 Crystal Beach Art Show which was held March 23 in Crystal Beach. Young artists submitted 200 pieces of art for the juried show. Judges included Patty Buster, who is the Educational Director at the Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art; Debbie Barasso an artist who lives in Crystal Beach; and sculptor David Smalley. Chef Massimo Patino of "Massimo's Eclectic Fine Dining" in Palm Harbor will prepare food for the VIP reception at the Tampa Bay International Curry Festival on Saturday, April 20 at the India Cultural Center in Tampa.
Curry is not just made by Indian people. That is the message Sadhana Ramcharran, chair of the Tampa Bay International Curry Festival, hopes to convey during the April 20 event. The festival will include more than 50 vendors, games, live music and most importantly lots of curry food. Indian, Jamaican, Guyanese and Pakistani are just some of the forms of curry to be highlighted at the festival. "We want people to come and enjoy the different curries," Ramcharran said. "It's a chance to see the wide variety of curries from all over the world." More than $10,000 in prizes will be awarded to professional and amateur chefs during cook-off competitions. On April 27, The Centre will be transformed into an art gallery and cocktail party for CSA Palm Harbor's biggest bash of the year, Harbor Nights. Proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit the CSA Palm Harbor scholarship program.

On April 27, The Centre will be transformed into an art gallery and cocktail party for CSA Palm Harbor's biggest fundraising bash of the year, Harbor Nights. Proceeds from the fundraiser will be used for the CSA Palm Harbor scholarship program. "Last year alone, scholarships for over $8,000 worth of summer camps was raised," said CSA Palm Harbor Director Erica Lynford. Five local dance teams performed in front of an enthusiastic audience during the Dancing with the Palm Harbor Stars preliminary competition Thursday. Three dance teams were picked to compete in Sunday's finals.
Palm Harbor celebrities took to the dance floor Thursday evening during the preliminary round of the Dancing with the Palm Harbor Stars competition. Five dance teams performed in front of an enthusiastic audience which filled Harbor Hall. The audience cheered the dancers on with plenty of hooting and hollering (see the video). The dance teams included- The Palm Harbor stars got creative when it came to their costumes. Debbie Thomas sewed her colorful blue costume herself. Eight bands enter, but only one can walk away the victor of Rockus Maximus. Talk to the guys behind Hang ‘Em High and it becomes clear they’re in it to win it. With two members from Palm Harbor, plus one from Holiday and another from St. Petersburg, the four-piece band says it has the style and presence to wow the crowds during Pasco County Libraries’ Rockus Maximus 16. Rockus Maximus is the library system’s annual battle of the bands.
