DESCRIPTION:Three Exhibits for&nbsp\;February!\n\nFlorida Landscape Artis
 ts\nRed Hot (Celebrating the&nbsp\;Color Red)\nArtwork from Students of&
 nbsp\;VSAFL\n\nFlorida Landscape Artists\nThe&nbsp\;Florida Landscape Ar
 tists are a small collective of painters who work&nbsp\;in various mediu
 ms including oil\, pastel\, watercolor and pen &amp\; ink. In&nbsp\;addi
 tion to working in their own studios\, they have been painting together
 on&nbsp\;location for several years. The artists first met\, and continu
 e to painttogether weekly as part of the group\, West Coast Plein Air\,
 a local chapter of&nbsp\;the statewide organization Plein Air Florida.\n
 The artists who make up&nbsp\;the Florida Landscape Artists are all acti
 ve working artists in their&nbsp\;own communities\, which range from Cle
 arwater in the south to Brooksville in the&nbsp\;north. The artists of t
 he group include: Eva Allen\, Phoebe Chidester\, Jenna&nbsp\;Star Friedm
 an\, Rhonda Hancock\, Anneke Hulstein\, Lynnette Vaughan and Jana&nbsp\;
 Withers.\nViewers of their work&nbsp\;will notice\, in addition to the v
 arying mediums\, differences in the paintings&rsquo\;&nbsp\;style\, colo
 r\, and composition. Yet there is cohesiveness as well\, that can be&nbs
 p\;defined by the artists&rsquo\; love for their subject matter &ndash\;
  the natural beauty of&nbsp\;Florida&rsquo\;s landscape. The actual loca
 tions of the paintings are also often&nbsp\;recognized by viewers as the
 y are based on local scenes in nearby areas.\nLike many of us who have&n
 bsp\;lived in Florida for any amount of time\, The Florida Landscape Art
 ists have&nbsp\;witnessed the loss of many of our natural surroundings t
 o hastily and poorly&nbsp\;thought-out methods of dealing with developme
 nt and population growth. As more&nbsp\;and more areas are replaced by p
 arking lots\, strip malls\, condos\, and other&nbsp\;signs of ever-encro
 aching development\, the Florida Landscape Artist&nbsp\;are&nbsp\;united
  in their common bond of wanting to record in art their interpretations&
 nbsp\;of the landscape around them. They hope that others enjoy their pa
 intings of&nbsp\;Florida&rsquo\;s wondrous beauty. Red Hot! Celebrating
 the Color Red&nbsp\;\nThe color red is&nbsp\;the warmest of all colors.
 The most emotionally intense color\, red stimulates a&nbsp\;faster heart
 beat and breathing as well as the conflicting color of love and&nbsp\;pa
 ssion to violence or warfare.\nEnergy\, Desire\,&nbsp\;Passion are all f
 eelings the beautiful color red can evoke.&nbsp\;\nStimulating\,&nbsp\;E
 xciting\, Motivating are some effects of the color red.\n21 Artists want
  to share&nbsp\;this creative celebration with you!&nbsp\;Red is Hot! Jo
 in&nbsp\;us and you will see this intense color\, from a speck to abunda
 nce\, on every&nbsp\;canvas\, photograph\, digital art and mixed media.
 Beautiful artwork that will&nbsp\;have a different effect on all\, but t
 here is one thing for sure- all will be&nbsp\;seeing red!\nStudent Artwo
 rk&nbsp\;from VSA\nArtwork created by&nbsp\;students at Deer Park Elemen
 tary\, Moon Lake Elementary and T. Weightman Middle&nbsp\;School in Pasc
 o County. The Hand 'n Hand artist residency programs that wereheld at th
 e three schools were facilitated by teaching artists Angela Dickerson\,&
 nbsp\;Babs Evans\, Rachel Means and Jack Beverland.\nThe Pasco County Ha
 nd 'n&nbsp\;Hand residency program was made possible through a grant fro
 m the Autism&nbsp\;Services Grants Council.\nVSA Florida provides&nbsp\;
 arts\, education and cultural opportunities by and for people with disab
 ilities.&nbsp\;Thanks to our&nbsp\;event partner Sweetbay Supermarket 65
