January 2012: Hundreds Mourn Logan Kushner

A large crowd gathered at Clearwater's Kapok Park to remember Palm Harbor University High grad Logan Kushner, 19, who died after smoking herbal incense.

February 2012: Tattoo Parlor Owner Accused of Running Drug & Gun Ring

Authorities say they seized 12 guns during a raid at Legacy Tattoo. The business' owner, Gyasi Heard, 32, is accused of running a drug and gun ring.

March 2012: Detectives- Security Guard was Triggerman in Deadly Shooting 

Brandon Patrick Baker, 30, of Palm Harbor was shot dead in front of his twin brother during a confrontation that happened after three vehicles pulled off East Lake Rd.

April 2012: 

James P. Algeri, 65, was hit and killed by a garbage truck in the Highland Lakes community.

May 2012: Teen Killed- Was 2nd Crash in 6 Weeks 

Angelica Lee Hall, 18, of Palm Harbor was a passenger on a motorcycle that crashed. It was the second time she was involved a crash in less than two months. In both wrecks, Shay Daniel Lydon, 20, of Palm Harbor was the driver.

June 2012: Tropical Storm Debby- Flooding Closes Tampa Rd.

High water covered a section of Tampa Rd., trapping one car as downpours from Tropical Storm Debby moved through the area.

July 2012: Shirtless Photos of State Rep. Peter Nehr Cause a Stir

The Palm Harbor politician says the photos he sent to friends to show off his weight loss and improved health were leaked to a political blog to hurt his re-election campaign.

August 2012: Woman Critically Injured in Condo Fire 

Firefighters rescued Patricia Crawford, 67, who had collapsed inside her burning townhouse at the Wedgewood Condo Complex, according to a Palm Harbor Fire Rescue spokesperson.

September 2012: September 11 Memorial Attracts Large Crowd 

An estimated 1,000 to 1,500 people attended the unveiling of Palm Harbor's 9/11 memorial Tuesday morning at Curlew Hills Memory Gardens.

October 2012: Suspected Meth Lab in Palm Harbor Leads to 2 Arrests

Deputies arrested Shiloh Sladon, 36, who shouted profanities and spit at reporters at the scene. It was the second time deputies discovered a suspected meth lab at the Palm Harbor home, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.

November 2012 Elections: 

  • Palm Harbor Dentists Smiling About Fluoride's Future In Pinellas County Dr. Johnny Johnson and Dr. Oscar Menendez used tooth costumes, a billboard and the Internet to let people know they wanted voters to get rid of commissioners who removed fluoride from the county's water. Their strategy worked.
  • State Rep. District 65: Nehr Loses to Zimmermann Republican incumbent Peter Nehr lost his seat in the state house to Democrat Carl Zimmermann, who is a teacher.

December 2012: 

Patch has learned that a BMW involved in a crash at McMullen Booth and Curlew roads was stolen from a home in Clearwater last year.
