Palm Harbor's JJ Gandy's Bakes 100,000 Key Lime Cookies Each Year
JJ Gandy's is famous for its key lime pies, but you might be surprised to learn that key lime cookies are the hottest selling item at the Palm Harbor landmark bakery.

Palm Harbor's JJ Gandy's bakery has probably got you beat by tens of thousands!
The landmark bakery located on Alt. 19 may be famous for its delicious key lime pies, but JJ Gandy's makes and sells 100,000 key lime cookies per year.
JJ Gandy's started making the key lime cookies about eight years ago "on a whim," according to Jeff Schmidt who owns the bakery with his sister Jodi and mother Gay.
"They're the hottest selling item in the store, " he said.
Schmidt says boxes of key lime cookies are popular with local businesses, who give them out as appreciation gifts.
Schmidt says the cookies are also liked by people who live outside of Palm Harbor.
"We get emails from out of state about how good the cookies are," he says.
A box of one dozen key lime cookies sells for $9.75.
