Who Serves the Best Lunch in Palm Harbor?

Have a favorite spot to grab a bite to eat for lunch? Let us know your personal pick for the best lunch in town.

Lunch spots can come in a variety of shapes and guises.

Some people are looking for a quick bite before they head back to the office, while others want a relaxing, sit-down meal to help ease the stress of a long day or week.

Which spot do you think is best? Here's a rundown of some local favorites.

. This downtown hot spot has all the ingredients of a great lunch: outdoor dining area, simple yet tasty food, a bar and a desirible location. It's perfect for a quick, weekday lunch break, or a long, lazy weekend afternoon meal.

. For the more sophisticated lunch lover, Lee Roy's offers a spacious dining area, a terrific lunch menu and a full bar, all in a classy yet casual atmosphere. It's a great place for a power lunch with clients or a fun afternoon meal with friends.

. Delis have long been considered the gold standard of lunchtime crowds, and thanks to this recently-opened edition of the Palm Harbor favorite, there is more space and more food to satisfy those craving a deli fix.

. Like a little friendly conversation with your food? Then Tiffany's is the place for you. Long known as a hotbed of political passions, this U.S. 19 restaurant also happens to have great food and friendly service, which can make for an excellent lunchtime experience.

. Healthy eaters need a place to grab a bite, too, and this Ozona eatery is a terrific choice for those looking for delicious, original dishes served with a smile by the caring owners and staff. For a more centrally-located healthy option, check out on U.S. 19.

. Whether you want a hot Cuban sandwich or a cold chef's salad, Harvey's is the place to go for traditional lunchtime food. From BLTs to Big Daddy's, this Palm Harbor staple has you covered.

Christine, thanks for the tip on Henry's. Good hot dog spots are always worth checking out!

Christine ... help ... where is HENRY'S ???? I do so love me a good hot dog.

Henry's has good food. The hot dogs, Italian beef, hamburgers, grilled chicken, etc are all recommended. BUT there are times when the service is lacking and some of the kids working there get overwhelmed - especially at night in a rush. The pizza is overpriced at $13 but you can get a ValPak coupon online and knock it down to $6.50..... just pray it's not burnt as the oven seems to cook inconsistently. Anyway,a LOT of potential here. Great staff, always friendly - they try their hardest to please and THAT'S why we go back. They are located next to the Sprint Store near the south end by Einstein's of the Coral Landings Shopping Center.

P.S. When the heck is a good time to get into Lucky Dill? The place always seems packed with lines hanging out the door and I have no intention of parking in the grass ditch off of US-19 to get a parking space. Any ideas?

Chatterbox, Alt.19 and Alderman Rd., good food, great service and very relaxing.

We've enjoyed Chatterbox as well.

Thanks for the input, Anne and Lillian. Sounds like we're going to have to do a sequel to this article soon! As for the best time to go to the Dill, I think everyone is waiting for the "newness" to die down, but so far it hasn't, and it might not for a while with spring break just ramping up!

Ha! I know what you mean, Anne! The Lucky Dill has been very busy since it moved to its new location. I've found luck stopping by in the afternoon, between 2-4pm. In addition to being popular with the locals, I have a feeling the restaurant is also very popular with our winter residents.

I would vote for Emily's (Crystal Beach Location). Awesome food!
Marty Hough March 04, 2012 at 01:54 AM
I would have to say it's Emily's Family Restaurant on Alt. 19, just south of Alderman. Even when I lived in Tampa, when I'd come visit my friends on the Dunedin Causeway, I'd always look forward to eating at Emily's. The food was always awesome and the wait staff is spot on with service and a smile.
