Meet the Orangutans at Suncoast Primate Sanctuary: Pongo

All week long, Palm Harbor Patch is featuring the orangutans at Suncoast Primate Sanctuary in honor of Orangutan Caring Week. Today, meet Pongo! 

Pongo, a male, was born on March 3, 1996. He came to the Suncoast Primate Sanctuary in February 2009 from a zoo in South Carolina when he had just become a teenager.

Pongo now has his cheek pads, which are unique to males. He weighs about 350 pounds and loves to greet and entertain visitors at the sanctuary.
