Pets of the Week: 4 Rescued Puppies!

Palm Harbor Patch is proud to help the Suncoast Animal League find forever homes for these great pets.

This week’s Pets of the Week are puppies Brannen, Tanner, Becky and Glory. They are Chesapeake Bay Retriever mix puppies who are nine weeks-old. Two puppies are female, two puppies are male.

The puppies and their injured mother were rescued last week in Georgia.  Volunteers from Pilots N Paws flew the little family here so the could give them better lives.  They had been living under a shed in an unpopulated area near Georgetown and the mother, "Punkin" (renamed Chessie), had been doing her best to feed and protect her puppies, despite having a significant wound to her face.  When they arrived, Chessie was ill and 12 pounds underweight, but her puppies are all very healthy and weighed over 10 lbs each.  As any good Mom would, she suffered and sacrificed for the sake of her babies.

Chessie will be healing and receiving medical treatment for a while, but her puppies are ready to find their forever homes. They easily made the adjustment to living indoors and are very intelligent, playful and affectionate. They love to play in water and have lots of puppy energy.  They’re already crate trained, are working on house training and seem to do well with children, cats and other dogs.
