Craigslist Sales Land Palm Harbor Man in Jail

The victim noticed $9,800 worth of items were missing and found them listed for sale on Craigslist with Anthony John Callerame's phone number as a point of contact, according to Pinellas County arrest records.

A Palm Harbor man accused of stealing his roommate's possessions and selling them on Craigslist is in custody at Pinellas County Jail, authorities report.

Anthony John Callerame, 30, of the 1400 block of Noell Boulevard in Palm Harbor, was living at a residence in Clearwater between June 1 and Aug. 22, according to Pinellas County arrest records.

Upon Callerame's departure on Aug. 23, a roommate noticed $9,800 worth of items were missing and found them listed for sale on Craigslist with Callerame's phone number as a point of contact, according to arrest records.

A Largo Police detective called the number and confirmed it was Callerame, but he did not wish to speak to authorities, arrest records say.

Police determined enough probable cause existed to issue a warrant for his arrest.

Largo Police worked with Pinellas County Sheriff's deputies for Callerame's arrest at his permanent Palm Harbor home address around midnight on Aug. 29, according to arrest records.

When deputies arrived, an older man who opened the door called to Callerame, "Anthony, the police are here to talk to you." He closed the door momentarily to secure dogs and then allowed deputies inside, according to arrest records.

When deputies entered Callerame's bedroom, he was missing. A deputy went to the backyard where he heard noises and discovered Callerame attempting to jump the fence, arrest records say.

Callerame was apprehended and charged with felony grand theft and misdemeanor obstructing or resisting an officer without violence.

He is also charged with violation conditions of a three-year probation for the sale, manufacture and delivery of a schedule I or II substance.

Callerame is in custody at Pinellas County Jail.
