Community Emergency Response Team to Host Class

This course would be helpful for anyone interested in learning how to prepare for and respond to a disaster.

Are you prepared for an emergency? Do you have a plan for you and your family? 

The East Lake Community Emergency Response Team will be holding a free Basic CERT Training Class in January. The target audience for this course is individuals who desire the skills and knowledge required to prepare for and respond to a disaster.

Some of the topics that will be covered include-

  • Fire Safety and Utility Controls
  • Emergency Medical Services
  • Search and Rescue

The course will include training in the classroom and practical, hands-on training.

Completion of the class will lead to membership in the East Lake CERT, a volunteer, free organization that assists East Lake Fire/Rescue and our community in times of emergency.

The class will be held on Jan. 18 to 20, at East Lake Fire Station 57, which is located at 3375 Tarpon Lake Blvd., Palm Harbor, FL, 34685.
