Georgia Fugitive Arrested in Palm Harbor

Brandon Marcell Reese, 27, had eluded Georgia authorities for more than seven months.

U.S.Marshalls recently arrested a fugitive in Palm Harbor who was considered armed and dangerous and was wanted on multiple federal and Georgia warrants.

Brandon Marcell Reese, 27, was arrested at a condo on Avery Avenue in Crystal Beach at about 9:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 9, 2013, according to an arrest affidavit.

Reese ran away from narcotics agents during a drug bust at a gas station in Columbus, GA, according to a Ledger-Enquirer report, which also said Reese vowed he would never be caught or taken into custody without incident.

Reese was the driver of a white Mercedes that the agents had blocked at the gas station. Reese ran away, but two of his accomplices were caught. One suspect, who was in the back seat of the Mercedes, jumped into the driver's seat and put the car into drive and hit an agent's vehicle. The man then put the Mercedes in reverse and hit another agent, knocking her to the ground, according to the Ledger-Enquirer report.

A second suspect in the Mercedes was arrested during the bust.

After Reese left the scene, agents searched his home using robots and found marijuana and multiple weapons including an AK-47, according to the report.

Reese is being held without bond in the Pinellas County Jail until he is transported to Georgia where he faces charges of unlawful flight to avoid prosecution, violation of probation, possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, possession with the intent to distribute cocaine and other charges.
