OMG PD: Wedgie Bandit, Vacuum Attack, Snoopy Gets Run Over

We compile the odd, unusual ‘oh my gosh’ police items from throughout the Tampa Bay region.

YouTube Prankster Charged With Giving Wedgies

An 18-year-old Bradenton man was arrested on battery charges after he was accused of giving strangers wedgies outside of a local movie theater.

Charles Ross has filmed himself on Anna Maria Island kissing strangers, doing the trust test with strangers and even panhandling in reverse by giving people dollars on street corners because he's doing well. His videos have received hundreds of thousands of hits on YouTube, but his latest stunt apparently went too far.

Ross was arrested Jan. 13 on charges of battery with non-serious injury. He was released on a $750 bond.

Snoopy Got Run Over on Purpose?

A 5-year-old Jack Russell terrier named Snoopy is dead after police said a car allegedly ran him over on purpose.

According to St. Petersburg Police, a blue, foor-door sedan was seen heading through an alley at a high rate of speed when it struck a small dog, then continued to leave the area without stopping.

Police said based on the witnesses' account, it appeared that the driver intentionally ran over the dog.

Detectives have released a surveillance video in the hopes of identifying the driver of the vehicle.

Vacuum Cleaner Attack Lands Man In Jail

A Holiday man was arrested after Pasco County deputies said he struck his girlfriend's son with a vacuum cleaner.

The victim had injuries "consistent with being hit with an upright vacuum cleaner," according to a deputy's report.

Skye Edward Compfort, 40, said he couldn't remember the beating. He was taken to a local hospital for medical clearance on suspicion of Xanax intoxication, then transferred to the Land O 'Lakes jail.

Compfort was charged Jan. 14 with simple battery, possession of drugs without a prescription and introduction/possession of contraband in a detention facility.

A Land O' Lakes teen is accused of using some mixed martial arts moves on his mother and sister after he had his cellphone taken away.

According to a Pasco County complaint affidavit, the 16-year-old choked, kicked and performed MMA  moves on his sister, then chased his mother and "placed her in a physically restraining MMA move."

The teen, whose name is being withheld because of his age, was arrested and taken to the juvenile assessment center without incident.

You Tube prankster should have to wear a G-string (2 sizes too small) and stand on a busy road holding a sign that says "wedgies are not funny" and video to be uploaded to you tube for all to see ~ Snoopy killer video should go viral so he can actually be caught. Once caught, he should be made to crawl naked on all fours while snoopy's owner attempts to run him down~ Vacuum guy should have one of his male parts "attached" to said vacuum while it is turned on until he remembers and confesses to the beating, no Xanax allowed this time~ and the Land O' Lakes teen should receive some MMA moves from his mother and sister while tied to a chair and then put in a psychiatric ward until he shows signs of NOT being a wackadoodle!! An eye for an eye is what this country needs : )

Most of these machines (including this one I bet) are built for varieties of grass far lessRead More demanding on the cutting head(s) than our St. Augustine, Floratam and Bahia. I'd let the technology season for a few more years before shelling out...

I know nothing about fluoride, but I know this: I grew up in Baton Rouge, LA, where, as far as IRead More know, the water supply contained fluoride. I am now 58 and have only had five cavities at this point and very 'healthy' teeth according to my dentist. I have no idea if fluoride was a factor and I know of no side effects I suffered from it.

Philip: Your story is a common one for those that have grown up in fluoridated areas of the US.Read More Mine is just the opposite. I have over 2/3rds of my mouth covered in crowns, root canals, and fillings from growing up without fluoridated water, and poor oral hygiene. Adults now are keeping their teeth into late life because of the last 68 years of fluoridation in the US. It was very common for folks to soak their teeth in a glass of water overnight before fluoridation began. Now, dentures are in a minority of our adult population. And thank God for that. Those of us in this age group have better nutrition, health, and self confidence because of retention of our natural teeth. Thanks for your positive story Philip :) Johnny Johnson, Jr., DMD, MS Pediatric Dentist, Palm Harbor, FL

Have you read The Flouride Deception by Christopher Bryson? Also, why do toothpaste warning labelsRead More exist? The ones that say if your child swallows more than a pea-sized amount you should call Poison control? Lets see, if I advise my child to drink 8 glasses a day, how much Flouride are they getting? Lets take it out of the water supply like much of the rest of the world is doing. That way, those that want it can take Flouride pills or pay you for topical treatments. Telling us to buy a filter or bottled water is unfair besides the fact that plastic bottles are bad for the environment.
