Palm Harbor Men Accused in Burglaries

19 charges were filed against Anthony Joseph Kirtos III, 27, in connection with a series of vehicle burglaries. Robert Triebell, 26, was charged with two counts of burglaries in connection with a theft at a home.

Pinellas County Sheriff's Deputies recently arrested two Palm Harbor men in connection with separate burglaries.

Deputies arrested Anthony Joseph Kirtos III, 27, after they say he broke into multiple vehicles and stole items from the vehicles over a two-week period in June.

On June 9, deputies say Kirtos smashed the rear window of a Toyota Corolla and stole a purse. Inside the purse was a bottle of Xanax and three credit cards.

On June 17, Kirtos broke into a locked Mazda truck and stole a wallet. Kirtos then used a Publix card in the wallet to purchase items at the Publix grocery store at 1921 Belcher Road in Clearwater, according to an arrest affidavit. Video cameras recorded Kirtos purchasing the items inside the store.

The same day, deputies say Kirtos also broke into another locked vehicle and stole a purse. Kirtos had several purses in his possession when he was arrested. He also had an empty bottle of Xanax, which was in one of the purses, according to the arrest affidavit.

Kirtos was charged with eight counts of burglary, two counts of false verification of ownership, one count of grand theft, three counts of criminal mischief, three counts of petit theft, one count of retail theft and one count of possession of Hydromorphone. Bond for all of the charges totalled $110,750. As of Thursday, July 19, Kirtos was still being held in the Pinellas County Jail.

In an unrelated theft, deputies arrested Robert Triebell, 26, of Palm Harbor, after they say he pawned items he stole from a home. Triebell took a Wii gaming system, an electric jig saw, a Skil drill, Nintendo video games and a Black and Decker sander from the home and pawned them at the Value Pawn at 29661 U.S. 19 in Clearwater, according to an arrest affidavit. The location of the home was not included in the affidavit. Deputies say Triebell admitted to pawning the items.

He was arrested on June 21 and booked into the Pinellas County Jail on two felony counts of dealing in stolen property. Triebell was released after posting $10,000 bond.
