Update: Rescued Driver Charged with DUI

The woman who was rescued by a Palm Harbor man after her SUV plunged into the water on Valentine's Day was arrested after the incident.

A Clearwater woman who was behind the wheel of an SUV that plunged into the water off Dunedin on Valentine's Day faces charges in connection with the incident.

Nicole Glazier, 28, of Clearwater was booked into the Pinellas County Jail a few hours after she was rescued. She was charged with-

  • DUI
  • Reckless Driving with Property Damage
  • Driving with a Suspended License

Glazier spent the night in jail and was released the morning of Feb. 15.

Palm Harbor resident, John Thorington, 52, rescued Glazier after her 2001 Ford Explorer plunged into the intracoastal waterway off Dunedin. Thorington was visiting a friend who lives nearby, when the SUV went into the water. When the incident was first reported, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said Glazier lost control of her vehicle for unknown reasons.
