Sweetbay in Palm Harbor to Close Wednesday

The Sweetbay Supermarket at 3400 East Lake Rd. is scheduled to close Wednesday.

The Sweetbay Supermarket on East Lake Road in Palm Harbor is closing its doors Wednesday as part of a company-wide shuttering of under-performing stores, according to an article on TBO.com.

The store at 3400 East Lake Rd. is among 33 Sweetbays scheduled to close in February.

Many stores began liquidation sales in the last two weeks, with some stores offering as much as 50 percent off. On Tuesday afternoon, a sign posted inside the East Lake Sweetbay advertised remaining items would be discounted by 75 percent, excuding alcohol. Most of the store's shelves were bare and the produce and bakery sections were closed.
