Ireland Nugent Family Gets $2,500 Check from Palm Harbor Univ. High Students

Neighbor Delaney Jardine told her fellow members of the Palm Harbor University High Hero Club that Ireland lost both lower legs after a lawn mower accident at her home, so the club decided to try to help the family.

Ireland Nugent and her family have $2,500 to use for medical expenses thanks to a teen who lives in their neighborhood and is in the Palm Harbor University High Hero Club.

Delaney Jardine and her family are neighbors with the Nugent family in Palm Harbor's Westlake Village subdivision. Jardine told her fellow members of the Palm Harbor University High Hero Club that Ireland lost both lower legs after a lawn mower accident at her home, so the club decided to try to help the family.

They received a $2,500 grant in partnership with the Wish Upon a Hero Foundation. Club members met the Nugent family and presented them with the check at Trinity Presbyterian, the family's church in Clearwater on June 5.

The teens also gave Ireland a bag of toys, which she opened with delight. The bag also contained a couple pairs of angel wings.

Ireland showed off how fast she can crawl. Everyone watched as the toddler spun around in circles, crawled across floor and climbed steps to a stage at the church.
