Adult Spelling Bee to Include Bribes, Costumes and Dinner

Are you awful when it comes to spelling? If so, you are in luck.

People with horrible spelling skills and those who are awesome spellers are both welcome at the first annual Greater Palm Harbor Chamber of Commerce Adult Spelling Bee to benefit education.

The quirky fundraiser will be held on Friday, September 27, 2013, and will be nothing like the spelling bees you participated in when you were a kid. This spelling bee encourages team play, costumes and bribes.

"This fun-filled family event is sure to be highly spirited with lots of humor" says Spelling Bee Committee Chairman Susan Long.

Teams of four people will compete in the spelling bee which will use words selected from the Scripps Howard word list. Team members work together to come up with the correct spelling of a word. If the answer is not correct, the team will be able to pay a bribe to stay in the round. Teams will not be able to use bribes during the last round.
