Ireland Nugent Receives Guitar Filled With Money

Palm Harbor 2-year-old Ireland Nugent received a guitar filled with money during a fundraiser held at The Centre on June 11. Ireland's lower legs were amputated in April after a lawnmower accident severed her ankles.

Palm Harbor musician Jim Terry had a wish fulfilled last Sunday.

The owner of Jim Terry Music presented toddler Ireland Nugent with a guitar filled with money during a big benefit bash for the 2-year-old amputee held at The Centre.

Ireland gave Terry a high five and even strummed the guitar when he gave it to her (see the home video submitted by Harvey Myers).

Terry has donated many guitars throughout the years and was saving a small pink guitar for a special person. He heard about the accident at Ireland's home in April that severed her ankles and decided he wanted to help the spunky toddler.

Terry put the guitar on display inside his music store and asked people to stop by and donate money by dropping the money in the center hole of the guitar.

He says the money that people deposited into the guitar almost reached the top of the guitar.

"I was overwhelmed. Thanks to all the people who put their donations in the guitar," said Terry.

Jim Terry Music is located at 2356 Curlew Road in Palm Harbor, (727) 789-6787
