Local Italian Angels Motorcycle Club Donates to Ireland Nugent

The Palm Harbor-based Italian Angels Motorcycle Brotherhood recently sold sandwiches to raise money for 2-year-old amputee Ireland Nugent.

When you think "motorcycle club," the image of leather-clad, tough motorcycle-riding guys often comes to mind. That's not always the case, though.

The Palm Harbor-based Italian Angels Motorcycle Brotherhood may wear cool-looking leather vests, but underneath those vests are big hearts. The club recently set up a booth to sell Italian sausage sandwiches at the Parrot Head Party in Palm Harbor.

"Throughout the year we donate to special causes with emphasis on children," said member Fred Defelice.

This Sunday, they'll donate a percentage of the proceeds to Ireland Nugent and her family. Ireland is the Palm Harbor 2-year-old whose ankles were severed in a freak lawn mower accident at her home. The young amputee will wear prosthetics for the rest of her life.

Sunday's big fundraiser will be held at The Centre for Ireland and her family.  There are plenty of fun activities planned for the entire family (see below).
