Musician Wants to Give Ireland Nugent a Guitar Filled with Money

Palm Harbor music store owner Jim Terry is hoping to present 2-year-old amputee Ireland Nugent with a pretty pink guitar filled with money.

Palm Harbor business owner Jim Terry plans to present 2-year-old amputee Ireland Nugent with a gift of music that will last her lifetime.

Terry is the owner of Jim Terry Music and has donated more than 100 guitars to charities during the 30 years that he's owned his music store.

He's got a special 38-inch, parlor-sized, pink guitar that he's been saving to give to someone special. After he read about the June 9 Family Fun Day fundraiser for Ireland Nugent and her family, Terry decided Ireland was the perfect person for the pink guitar.

Terry has seen firsthand how music can enhance people's lives. He's confident that despite the injury to her arm, Ireland can someday learn how to play guitar. That's because Terry also gives private music lessons to students and has taught people of all ages and backgrounds to play guitar. Some students have been blind, others had down syndrome and autism.

"You're in charge of your own destiny," he says.
