Love them! I had an excellent experience with New Horizons during my pregnancy. I was also new to the area and was so glad I found them. Dr. Vendeland and Cassandra Blakley(midwife) were both great. They were very caring and offered anything I needed. The staff is also wonderful. No, they did not offer in office testing, but I was given 2 ultrasounds in office. The other ultrasound I was given at a radiology center because it was a stronger machine so they could check the baby's organs and gender. Typically for any bloodwork or glucose testing you are sent to Labcorp, but it seemed normal to me to keep the appointments quick. I never had any problem scheduling appointments, was always called back on the same day if I had a question, and appointments I was usually in and out very quickly. They will also let you know if the doctors are running behind at all if you call in before your appointment and you can reschedule if needed, which typically only happened if Dr. Vendeland had a surgery at the hospital or if one of them were called to the hospital to deliver a baby. They are very gentle and were very patient with me if I happened to be extra moody that day (hormones? haha). There was a couple times I saw a little less patience with other people, but those people were being pretty difficult. Also, maybe this changed but after hours they do have a voicemail that tells you if you think it is an emergency to go to the ER, but you can leave a message for them too.

This practice is horrible! I saw them during my pregnancy only and it was a horrible experience. We had recently moved and this was our third child when I chose them. They do take the time to listen to you and they are friendly BUT they can get major attitudes for no reason at all. For instance, I was so sick to my stomach during my pregnancy and they had me on Zofran. Well I missed done appointment and they refused to refill it ( I missed a huge family event because of this). Dr. Vendelend told me in office that they sometimes have to ration things to get people "like me" to keep their appointments as a tactic to get them to come in. I was by no means a slacker when it came to prenatal care and felt like I was being treated like a horrible mother whenshe said that to me. They also have no in office testing, they cannot do ultrasounds, bloodwork, not even the glucose testing. You MUST be referred out for everything! To add insult to injury there are no on call doctors! If you call in after hours they have a voicemail that tells you to go to the er. They never turned their away message off, they would be halfway through the workday on multiple occasions and their nighttime message would still be on. I could never get through to make appointments and forget EVER getting a callback!
