The cafe features a daily selection of sandwiches and soups and freshly-made desserts. Breads used in the sandwiches are baked fresh at Sweet Caroline's, which Rich Cannici Sr. says makes the cafe stand out from the rest because few restaurants bake their own breads. So far, there's no set menu because the staff wants to be able to modify the offerings to suit customers' desires, according to Cannici, who is overseeing marketing for the new cafe. Two talented Palm Harbor University High students will be on center stage Monday night when they compete in the prestigious Walker's Rising Stars Scholarship Competition. Amanda Springer and Justin Ma are two of 25 Pinellas County high school students who will compete in the competition, which is in its tenth year. Walker's Rising Stars provides college scholarships to juniors and seniors in Pinellas County public high schools. Solo performers compete in dance, drama, vocal music, instrumental music and visual arts categories. Groups of up to three students can also compete in the visual arts category.
